Get Your Apartment Ready for Autumn with These Fall Crafts
September 18, 2017
As the air outside gets brisker and fall moves closer, you're going to spend more time cozied up in your apartment. So why not make it a place where you don't mind hibernating? Add some inviting autumn glam to your space with these DIY crafts.
Pumpkin Spice Mason Jar Candles [She Uncovered]
There's no aroma quite as quintessentially fall as the smell of a pumpkin pie fresh from the oven. You won't actually have to go to the trouble of baking when you create these mini mason jar candles. The candles actually use real pumpkin spice to create the comforting aroma of pumpkin pie. You'll simply blend the pumpkin spice with some oil and candle wax, add a wick, and let the candle harden before lighting.
Yarn Pumpkins [One Little Project at a Time]
If you love the look of pint-sized pumpkins but don't want to deal with the possibility of seeing one smashed on the floor, these yarn pumpkins are a good alternative. Simply shape the faux pumpkins around inflated balloons using glue-soaked yarn. Allow the yarn to dry, deflate the balloons, and twist a pipe cleaner into the shape of a stem.
Chalkboard "Wreath" [Country Living]
Instead of greeting guests with a standard autumn wreath, DIY your own door ornament using an old serving tray and some chalkboard paint. Coat the main part of the tray with the chalkboard paint and embellish the edges with gold paint, then encircle the entire thing with fall leaves and berries. Finally, write an autumn greeting and hang the "wreath" on your door using twine.
What will you be crafting this fall?
