Summer Spritzers to Make Right Now
June 28, 2020
In search of a refreshing summer sip? These spritzers should do the trick. They all feature fresh summer fruits and are non-alcoholic—but you can feel free to spike them if you’re making a batch for happy hour!
Grapefruit Lime Spritzer [How Sweet Eats]
Grapefruit Italian soda stars in this fizzy beverage! Get started by lining the rim of a glass with a savory-sweet mixture of salt and sugar, then add crushed ice. Pour in about half a cup of the grapefruit soda and an ounce of lime juice. Stir and top with a fizzy layer of club soda, then garnish with a wedge of lime.
Strawberry Mint Spritzer
Did you toss a bunch of farmers’ market strawberries in the freezer back during their peak growing season? Now’s the time to put them to good use. Blend the frozen berries to a smooth puree and pour them into individual glasses, then cap them off with a mix of lemon-lime soda, strawberry lemonade concentrate, and chopped mint. Then embellish the glasses with lemon slices, diced strawberries, or mint leaves.
Lemon Basil Spritzer [The Organic Kitchen]
Prefer a tarter treat? This lemony spritzer might be perfect for you. Before you start to mix it up, make a quick batch of simple syrup using water and sugar. Then muddle some fresh lemon and basil before pouring in a dash of lemon juice and some of the homemade simple syrup. Add tonic water, ice cubes, and more lemon and basil for garnish.
