The Autumn Cocktails to Enjoy at Your Next Virtual Happy Hour
September 25, 2020
It’s time to say goodbye to margaritas and mojitos, and make way for cocktails more appropriate for sweater season. These easy-to-make concoctions will all warm you up with the flavors of fall.
Orange-Thyme Old-Fashioned [Country Living]
The aromatic addition of thyme transforms a simple Old-Fashioned into something much cozier. In order to make this cocktail, you’ll have to also craft your own simple syrup. Orange zest, a few sprigs of fresh thyme, sugar, and water are all it takes to make the orange-thyme syrup, which you’ll add to a mix of bourbon, ice, and Angostura bitters.
Drunken Pumpkin Latte [Delish]
Having a hard time dragging yourself away from your pumpkin spice latte, even during happy hour? This “drunken” version of a pumpkin latte might be the perfect answer. Dust the rim of a mug with pumpkin pie spice and sugar, then start mixing up the beverage itself. You’ll need more pumpkin pie spice and sugar, plus pumpkin pie vodka and RumChata. Combine it all with boiling water, stir, and enjoy with whipped cream on top.
Autumn Fizz [Town and Country]
Is apple-picking your favorite part of fall? Then you’ll want to try this fruit-forward cocktail. Pick up some sparkling apple cider at your favorite local orchard (or the grocery store) to pour atop a shaken mixture of gin, lemon juice, and agave. As the final flourishes, add a fresh slice of apple and a sprig of thyme.
