Catch a Live Performance at the Laurel Mill Playhouse
December 28, 2018
The Laurel Mill Playhouse launched more than three decades ago as the Burtonsville Players, and its team has remained committed to creating community-oriented theater ever since. The productions unfold in a historic building nestled away in Laurel—it’s more than a century old. Grab tickets to an upcoming show in 2019 to check out the playhouse firsthand.
On various dates throughout the new year, the Village Idiots improv troupe will storm the stage with their uproarious brand of improvised comedy. You could come to every show and never see the same performance—the actors really make up the sketches on the spot using audience suggestions. Tickets are $10 if you buy them online. If you prefer a more structured show, Another Door Opens will run for a few weekends in January. The play takes the audience to the future, where AI and androids team up to give the earth a second chance, setting out to revive humans millions of years after nuclear war wiped out most of them. Tickets are $20.
