Learn More About Our Region at the Museum of the San Ramon Valley
August 17, 2018
The San Ramon Valley has a rich history that starts long before settlers arrived. From hundreds of years ago to today, the entire story of the region is on display at the Museum of the San Ramon Valley.
The museum’s permanent exhibit begins with an overview of the local geology, then it dives into the people who’ve lived in the valley over the years. The museum sheds light on the California Native Americans who once roamed the area, and then showcases artifacts from the Rancho period and the Gold Rush era. It follows the town’s story all the way up to the present day. You can also check out a special model train display now through August 26th at the museum. It actually includes a replica of the museum itself (in its former life as the Southern Pacific Depot) and four working model trains.
