Now Open in San Ramon: Ukai Japanese Bistro

Whether you like your fish raw and fresh from the ocean or deep-fried and crunchy, you’ll find something you like at Ukai Japanese Bistro. The eatery just opened in San Ramon in November, and it’s already generating some buzz. It boasts a large menu of sushi, both raw and fully cooked, as well as a handful of appetizers and kitchen entrees.

Start your meal with the baked avocado stuffed with spicy salmon or the deep-fried oyster drizzled with tempura sauce. Then savor some of the nigiri from the sushi bar, such as the bluefin tuna, the salted salmon, or the sweet shrimp. Save room for one of the specialty rolls, too. The Crow Canyon starts out as a deep-fried spicy crab roll, but then the sushi chef adds spicy salmon, scallops, avocado, and a special sauce on top.
