Even though the restaurant just debuted in June, Soba Ichi's 100% buckwheat noodles (Jyuwari soba) are already so popular that there's usually a line of foodies waiting for them when the doors open. Be among the first to hit the sign-up sheet at 11 a.m. if you want to be guaranteed a bowl of the hot, fresh soba noodles.
If you're lucky enough to land one of these coveted spots, order a bowl of the soba with or without assorted tempura. Even if you miss the cut-off, you can still try the Nihachi soba noodles, which are crafted from 80% buckwheat and 20% wheat flour. Order the ita dish for two with cold noodles and your choice of dipping sauces, or try one of the hot soba entrees like the Kamo Nanban, soba with sliced duck breast. Even if you aren't into noodles, Soba Ichi might still have something that appeals to you thanks to a list of Asian tapas and a couple of rice dishes. Cap off your meal with the sobacha mousse, which is infused with tea.
