Now Open Near Oak Walk: King of Kabab in Berkeley
June 7, 2019
The moment you step inside of the newly opened eatery King of Kabab, one aspect of its kitchen will probably catch your eye: the slowly rotating spit of lamb and beef gyro meat. The chef shaves slivers of the meat directly from the spit and stuffs them inside fresh pita bread or layers them on platters with other Mediterranean bites.
So, if you want to savor some of the gyro meat, order the gyro tucked inside of a pita wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and lavash or the plate, showcasing the same ingredients sans the pita. Prefer to go meat-free? Dig into the crunchy falafel, also available as a plate or a wrap. If you want to try the fresh, house-made hummus, opt for the lamb mendi plate with tender meat, rice, salad, and a dollop of the hummus.
