Step Back in Time at the Maryland Renaissance Festival
October 3, 2019
It’s been centuries since King Henry VIII courted Anne Boleyn, but their romance comes alive in the present day thanks to the Maryland Renaissance Festival. The festival follows a different historical storyline every year, and this fall, it’s weaving the tale of a king who has recently banished his first wife in order to pursue an enchanting courtier named Anne Boleyn.
Travel back in time to 1532 when it was all happening. Step into the Maryland Renaissance Festival’s fairgrounds, AKA the fictional Revel Grove, and learn how people at the time lived. You’ll encounter dozens of artisans selling handcrafted works of art, from ceramics to jewelry, as well as costumed actors playing out the festival’s plot. Across 10 stages, watch everything from knights jousting to recreations of Shakespeare’s finest works. Don’t forget to grab a smoked turkey leg while you’re at the Maryland Renaissance Festival! It’s welcoming guests every weekend now through Sunday, October 20th.
